Melody Adly is a multidisciplinary artist working primarily with woven textiles, sculptural installation, and performance. Informed by her place in the Iranian diaspora, her work references natural landscapes, family histories, mythologies, and theatrical histories of storytelling. She often takes inspiration from the desert, nature, and her childhood family garden. Her practice often utilizes slow, meditative, processes such as locally-sourced natural dyes that she forages herself. Taking inspiration from poetry and literature, her work often includes hidden codes meant to be noticed and understood only by certain audiences, often those who understand Farsi. She received her BA in Art Practice from UC Berkeley in Spring 2025 and is a recipient of the 2025 Ramos Foundation Award. After graduating in May, she has spent time volunteering at The Weaving Mill in Chicago, IL and completed an artist residency in Morocco in Fall 2025.
