Melody Adly is a multidisciplinary artist currently working primarily with a focus on woven textiles and sculptural installation. Her work is informed by her place in the Iranian diaspora, specifically referencing mythologies, theatrical histories of storytelling, and private performance. In doing so, her work challenges traditional barriers and norms–manipulating synthetic objects that are commonly less valuable and contrasting synthetic and natural camouflage. Her work often includes hidden codes meant to be noticed and understood by certain audiences (often those who understand Farsi).
